Mukul Madhav Vidyalaya (MMV) was established on 24th June 2010 in Golap, Ratnagiri, to provide quality English education at an affordable cost to the community in the rural area.
MMV started with a modest strength of 151 students and has grown steadily into a full-fledged SSC affiliated school with approximately 492 students from Pre-Nursery to Std. VI. The school has shown progressive growth and in the coming years we plan to increase the classes to Std. X.
Spread over 2 buildings of 20,000 square feet, Mukul Madhav Vidyalaya provides adequate opportunities for the holistic development of the students.
Mukul Madhav Foundation provides financial assistance to deserving students for higher studies in Engineering, Architecture and Doctorate Programmes. We have set up fellowships for resident doctors at K.E.M Hospital, Pune. Doctors studying for their Post-Graduation can avail for this fellowship programme.
We have started extending financial assistance and support to two schools in Masar, Gujarat, Prathamik School and Girdhar Vidhyalaya. Both these schools are located very close to Company’s plant.
Finolex has provided benches and desks, teachers’ tables, and computers so that the students can engage in online activities. In order to encourage the students in their education, Company has awarded prizes to the toppers in the academic results.
In 2006, 2 Municipal schools were identified and adopted in Panchgani, which lacked basic infrastructure and urban educational facilities. Ever since, we have been upgrading their infrastructure by way of building new Classrooms, a science laboratory and have also donated sewing machines for the Girls’ Vocational Training Centre, tablas, a TV & VCR Set and projector, educational books, CD’s and stationery.
We also noticed that students studying at these schools come from economically challenged backgrounds. They struggle to afford basic clothing, such as shoes, socks and sweaters, all of which are of utmost importance during the harsh winters of Panchgani. This leads to a high rate of absenteeism during the winter months. Hence, we also donate these items on a need basis.
Mukul Madhav Foundation introduced English education to these previously Marathi medium schools by appointing teachers who teach English, as well as Maths and Science in English to students from Std. I. to Std. V. In January 2014, we introduced English as a subject to the Pre-primary section as well. We have an in-house trainer who trains our teachers in English on a weekly basis.
